Chevy Pickup Trucks have a rich history. The 2nd generation C/K series produced from 1967 to 1972 have become one of the most iconic trucks in history! Known as the "Action Line," this series included full-size pickup trucks, chassis cab trucks, and medium-duty commercial trucks. The Chevy Suburban utility wagon and K5 Blazer/GMC Jimmy off-road vehicle were added during this time, and the Cheyenne and Sierra trim levels made their debuts.
In 1967, the C/K series underwent a redesign for multi-purpose use and better durability, increasing comfort and convenience features. The larger "full-view" rear window became standard on all pickup trucks in 1968, and side-marker lights were added. The Longhorn option was introduced for 3/4-ton C-series trucks. 1969 saw component changes to the interior, redesigned steering wheel and hood, and optional two-tone paint configurations with upper and lower side moldings.
The 1971 mid-cycle revision included updated front fascias and front disc brakes as standard equipment for all light-duty C/K trucks. The interior saw upgrades such as optional tilt steering columns and an AM/FM radio as a factory-installed option. In 1972, molded-plastic door panels with integral armrests and a glued rear-view mirror were introduced.
